Over 25 years of glass artwork in Riehen
After completing his education in appliance manufacturing at the Glaskeller Basel, Peter Keil followed his dream of self-employment in glassblowing and founded the Glashüttli Peter Keil Riehen in 1996. The Glashüttli–at the time still located near the Beyeler Foundation in Riehen– rapidly grew its renown amongst the glass lovers in the region and well beyond. The Glashüttli has since become a place of beautiful artwork, a place to learn new things and engage with others.
In 2016 Sandra Keil Steiner, Peter Keil’s daughter, decided to fully commit to her long-time hobby of sandblasting on glass and thus the Sandwerk GmbH was founded. Keeping up with the family tradition, Glashüttli Peter Keil Riehen will officially be part of the Sandwerk GmbH starting April 1st 2017.
We look forward to the future and count on seeing you at our stall at the Christmas market in Basel, other select events as well as at the workshop, which is open to the public and can be booked for courses.
